Finis Jennings Dake; Dake's Annotated Reference Bible. Please refer to Jeff Spencer’s article, "The Jesus of the Dake Annotated Reference Bible" at the Apologetics index >>>
Conclusion
The above research only scratches the surface of the heresy that is contained within the pages of the Dake Bible. Dake's view of Jesus, from His teaching of the preincarnate nature of Christ to his teaching of Christ Incarnate, is filled with contradictions, confusion, and doctrinal chaos. The Jesus of the Dake Annotated Reference Bible is demonstrably not the Jesus of the Bible.
What makes this so troubling is that Dake and his aberrant teachings are accepted within the confines of the orthodox Christian community. In fact, never have I seen so much heresy contained in the teaching of one man, and that man still be considered Christian. The reason for this is either ignorance of what Finis Jennings Dake actually taught or a church that is so biblically illiterate that it cannot tell Living Water from deadly poison.
If more believers were informed about Dake's heresies regarding such topics as the nature of God, the Trinity, the Incarnation, and the deity of Christ, then the Dake Annotated Reference Bible would quickly fall off of the best-seller chart and into a place where it belongs—the garbage bin, alongside other best-selling editions that promote principles that can be at home only in the kingdom of the cults. It is my desire to be a voice used by the Lord to help accomplish this feat.

Conclusion
Finis Dake's Bible is without question filled with questionable commentaries. It is not the reading material for young, immature Christians or undiscerning ministers. It has just enough truth to make his error seem plausible and convincing. He surely has convinced a host of modern day Pentecostals and Charismatic’s.
No one would suggest that he is singularly responsible for the theological mess that floods these churches, but neither should he be excused for his part. Often when a figure such as Dake is dead, his teaching becomes even more powerful and accepted. Godly men and women must return to the simple Word of God and quit depending on popular figures to do their interpreting of truth. The Bible will interpret itself if you will:
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (II Timothy 2:15)
Dake's Dangerous Doctrine >>>
Conclusion
Dake’s view of essential Christian doctrines sometimes has more in common with the theology of the cults than with historic Christian theology. His works, while containing many biblical truths, include numerous other unbiblical and outlandish teachings, such as: God lives in a mansion on a material planet called Heaven and is invisible to us only because He is so far away that we cannot see Him, humans are miniatures of God in attributes and power, Adam replaced Lucifer as ruler of the earth, disease germs are related to demons, God wants the races to remain separate as they were originally and will be in eternity. It is unfortunate that Dake’s faulty works find such a welcome place in Christian churches and bookstores.
