Prof William Lane Craig, Pastor Ray Ciervo and Mike Willenborg, three Americans from what constituted the main body of the Faith and Reason team 2010, did presentations. Details of each presentation are far too extensive to mention here. Suffice to say that their impeccable preparations, evident depth of knowledge of the subject and most strikingly, their motivation by means of true faith made for an event which I will certainly not easily forget. Once again it glaringly exposes the dire need for quality impartation of the Word in our country, and the severe lack of guidance with which we currently struggle. Another fact which comes to mind is that these speakers needed no media assistance (TV, music, slideshows, side acts) to bolster their presentations. Read full article

Die Boere-Afrikaners word deur verskeie hoogs omstrede politieke en godsdienstige standpunte uitmekaar gedryf. Sommige daarvan, soos bv. die Israelvisie met sy Jodehaat, het geweldige negatiewe implikasies. Dit sal dringend uit ons ideologiese en godsdienstige denke verwyder moet word indien ons suiwer evangeliese Christene wil wees wat onsself sinvol aan die voortbestaan van ons volk wil wy.
Ons moet weet wie onsself is, wie die Jode (of Israel) is, wat ons met mekaar in gemeen het en wat ons van mekaar onderskei. As ons dink dat óns ‘Israel’ is en dat die Jode nié ‘Israel’ is nie, dan begewe ons onsself in ‘n kompetisie oor volksidentiteit met die Jode. Dit laat mense in ‘n moeras van verwarde denke beland waaruit die mees grusame drogbeelde oor die Joodse volk opgediep word. Ek glo dat ek as Christen-volkekundige deur die genade van die Here ‘n sinvolle bydrae tot die debat oor etniese en godsdienstige opvattings oor Israel én ons volk kan lewer.

The well-known song “Silence is Golden may have been a hit on the singles UK charts in 1967, but the refrain “Silence is Truth” has hit the Christian Church like a tsunami, carrying with it in it’s destructive wake many unsuspecting Christians. One of the major contributors to this utterly devastating “silent” storm is the Mosaic Church in Fairlands, Johannesburg.
As an introduction to my critique on the Mosaic Congress I would like to draw your attention to certain words and phrases that all the keynote speakers used throughout their presentations. A word that kept popping up like a well-watered toadstool in each of their corpulently worded lectures was the word “silence.”Bearing in mind that most of these speakers’ mentors and gurus have drunk from the wells of Buddhism (i.e. Thomas Merton, Thomas Keating etc.) it is no surprise that their entire spiritual journey revolves mainly around Buddhist spiritualities and not the cross of Jesus Christ. In fact, the only time they referred to the word “cross” was when they endearingly spoke of St John of the Cross, a Desert Father who coined the phrase “Silence is the first language of God.”

I have made a decision. I will no longer debate the issue of homosexuality in the church with anyone. I will no longer engage the biblical ignorance that emanates from so many right-wing Christians about how the Bible condemns homosexuality, as if that point of view still has any credibility. I will no longer discuss with them or listen to them tell me how homosexuality is “an abomination to God,” about how homosexuality is a “chosen lifestyle,” or about how through prayer and “spiritual counseling” homosexual persons can be “cured.” Those arguments are no longer worthy of my time or energy.
I will no longer dignify by listening to the thoughts of those who advocate “reparative therapy,” as if homosexual persons are somehow broken and need to be repaired. I will no longer talk to those who believe that the unity of the church can or should be achieved by rejecting the presence of, or at least at the expense of, gay and lesbian people. I will no longer take the time to refute the unlearned and undocumentable claims of certain world religious leaders who call homosexuality “deviant.”
I will no longer listen to that pious sentimentality that certain Christian leaders continue to employ, which suggests some version of that strange and overtly dishonest phrase that “we love the sinner but hate the sin.” That statement is, I have concluded, nothing more than a self-serving lie designed to cover the fact that these people hate homosexual persons and fear homosexuality itself, but somehow know that hatred is incompatible with the Christ they claim to profess, so they adopt this face-saving and absolutely false statement.
I will no longer temper my understanding of truth in order to pretend that I have even a tiny smidgen of respect for the appalling negativity that continues to emanate from religious circles where the church has for centuries conveniently perfumed its ongoing prejudices against blacks, Jews, women and homosexual persons with what it assumes is “high-sounding, pious rhetoric.” The day for that mentality has quite simply come to an end for me. I will personally neither tolerate it nor listen to it any longer.

Is a movement that is succeeding very very quickly in uniting all faiths together under the banner of a One World Religion.
We are to reclaim this earth for Christ. The Kingdom of God belongs to us. However only the illuminated/those who have reached god level can be part of this plan; the rest need to be ‘removed’.
The bowels of this movement is the Roman Catholic Church. The Emergents therefore can think of themselves as ‘Light Leaders’ because their road leads back to Rome. Mary, Queen of Heaven is what links all religions together. The Eucharist Christ is the false Christ.
